Did you know that more than 65% of Alki’s PTA funds come from our Auction? Did you also know that it is in danger of being cancelled next year because of lack of volunteers? With the upcoming levy cliff and all of the other money issues our district is having… we are anticipating our PTA budget to dwindle quickly. Not having an auction next year will dramatically affect our school.
In the last 3-5 years, we have had the same amazing volunteers who are all wanting to step down and take a much deserved break. This is a big event and it takes some seriously devoted parents willing to put in the time and energy to make it happen. Now is the time to jump on the auction bandwagon and bring your talents and expertise to next year’s event and fill one of the following roles:
- Auction Chair – 1 to 2 volunteers
- Procurement Team – 3 to 4 volunteers
- Buy In Party Coordinator
- Website/Database Lead
- Tickets/Raffle Sales
We have until the end of February to put our deposits down for the location and auctioneer. Because of future budget we are trying to be realistic and fiscally responsible on where our money goes… therefore if we don’t have volunteers… then we won’t have an Auction.
