Alki-A-Thon! (June 1)

AlkiAThon

The PTA sponsored Alki-A-Thon is less than 10 DAYS AWAY! It is our second largest PTA fundraiser of the year, with funds raised to support our .5 school counselor, lunchroom and playground supervision, Writers in the Schools residency and much more.  Last year we raised over $22000!  Alki students will run/jog/walk as many laps as they can around the Alki field and collect donations in support of their participation or pledges based on their lap totals. If every student raises $65 in pledges we would reach this year’s goal of $25,000!

Pledge online HERE

Our NEW, PREFERRED, PLEDGE SITE makes it SO easy – no more confusing pledge page to create!  Donors can make a flat pledge (sorry, “per-lap” pledges cannot be made via the website,) pay by credit card, and enter the name of the student(s) they are sponsoring and receive an emailed receipt for their 100% tax deductible donation. Share the link with friends and family far and wide and help us beat last year’s totals!

There will also be awards for the students and classrooms with the best spirit, most laps run, and highest pledge participation (based upon the number of students who turn in a pledge form OR have donors on the website – Awards are never based upon money raised.)

Paper packets came home last week.  Missed it?

For the 3rd Year the Alki PTA will support other schools in our West Seattle Community by providing the opportunity for families to do a “direct give” to Highland Park, Roxhill, Sanislo, Concord and West Seattle Elementary schools. This is entirely voluntary and at the discretion of each family. If you would like to participate, please write a check directly to the school(s) of your choice and turn it in with your pledge packet after the Alki-A-Thon. The Alki PTA will collect and deliver the checks to the partner schools.

Thank you for considering this opportunity and please let us know if you have any questions.
