Alki-A-Thon: Keep those Pledges Coming!

Families have until Friday, June 8th to collect and turn in pledges for th Alki-A-Thon. The Alki-A-Thon is our second largest (and final!) fundraiser of the year. Keep those pledges coming! If every student raises just $65, we will meet our goal! (Don’t forget that you can submit your pledge online!)

This year’s Alki-A-Thon was so much fun. The music and emceeing were great (thank you, Bri’Anna Smith and Mike Powell), the shirts were awesome (thank you Josh Ingalls for the design) and the kids were smiling and running their hearts out. We had a lot of parent volunteers and spectators cheering on the runners. Thank you, to all, for making the afternoon fun.

Alki PTA would like to thank Jessie Ryan and her apprentice, Johanna Wrenholt for chairing this year’s Alki-a-Thon! Extra thanks to Jessie for multiple years spent mastering this huge event! All your hard work has paid off!\

A BIG thank you to our business sponsors, whose generous support helped us reach our fundraising goal to support so many amazing programs at Alki Elementary! Thank you to Northwest Art and Frame, A Kid’s Place Dentistry, Mission Cantina, Aumakua Massage Therapy, West Seattle Arts Nest, Cambium Inc., West Seattle Runner, Bellevue Rare Coin, West Seattle Pediatric Therapies, FitBody Solutions, Menashe & Sons Jewelers, and Gorilla Screen Printing.

Thank you, volunteers! The Alki-A-Thon can’t happen without all of you. It takes a lot of people to put this together and it highlights how wonderful this community is. Thank you for showing up on Friday, gathering pledges, getting your kids ready, cutting oranges, setting up the field, donating tents, helping out teachers, bringing treats and balloons, filling water containers, putting out garbage cans, marking laps, etc!!! A special thank you to Julie Madden for managing the volunteers. And extra special thanks you to all the staff of Alki Elementary for supporting this event.
