Summer 2019: Free Swim, Free Lunches, how to avoid the summer slide
FREE Summer Playground and Meals Program
The park sites that will be operating near Alki will be:
- Roxhill Park
- EC Hughes Park
- Highland Park
Each site will be open from 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday, July 1 – August 23, and will have free recreation and art activities provided by AmeriCorps VISTAs. Lunches will be served from 12-1 pm, and snack from 3-3:30 pm.
We will also have these additional programs taking place at these parks:
-Roxhill Park – Skateboard Clinics- Wednesdays 1-4pm, July 3- August 21
-Roxhill Park – Environmental Learning with Parks Naturalists – Thursdays 1-3pm, July 11-August 22
-Highland Park – Environmental Learning with Parks Naturalists – Wednesdays 1-3pm, July 10-August 21
-Highland Park – Summer Meals Field Day – Saturday, June 29th, 12pm-3pm.

FREE YOUTH SWIMMING LESSONS:
This summer, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) will offer free daytime youth swim lessons beginning July 1 from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday-Friday at all nine lifeguarded summer beaches.
SPR will also offer free evening swim lessons from 6 to 6:30 p.m. at all 9 lifeguarded beaches on Mondays and Thursdays. Lessons are intended for youth 6 and older. Register in person at the beach. Sign up at the beach of your choice starting June 22 during regular operating hours.

Seattle Public Library hosting FREE lunch this summer
All kids (18 and under) are welcome and do not need to provide a proof of income, address, or citizenship.
- The Delridge branch will offer lunch between 1-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday from July 1 through August 29.
- The High Point branch will offer lunch between 3-4 p.m. Monday through Friday from July 1 through August 30.
- The Rainier Beach branch will offer lunch from 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday from July 1 through August 30.
