Alki Staff Appreciation Week (May 4-8)
National Staff Appreciation Week (May 4-8) is a celebration of all of the teachers, playground supervisors, front office admins, nurses, custodians, librarian, IA’s, and counselors that educate, guide and care for our children every day. It’s in these challenging times that we truly recognize and appreciate how they all play such a pivotal role in our children’s lives!
Since we cannot thank them in person, we have to get creative in letting them know how much we appreciate them. Here are a few ideas for parents and students to say a meaningful “thank you.”
.
We made a video!
Thank you to everyone that submitted a picture or video clip to be included! The hearthfelt Staff Appreciation video was sent to all Alki Staff and to families in the 5.6.20 Alki Enews email. If you do not recieve Alki PTA Enews, you can subscribe here.
Letters & Art from Students
Personally thank a teacher or staff member with a handwritten note, poem, or artwork. Let them know just how much they mean to you! Email is the best way to connect them at this time. Please consider saving your artwork for a time when we can display it at school, once it is safe to do so.

Email from Parents
Staff would love to hear from parents! If you think your child’s teacher or a certain staff member has done a good job this year, write an email to them saying so. It’s fast, easy, and much appreciated! Click here for list of Alki Staff Emails.
Have a letter or art for all of the wonderful staff at Alki? Email letters you do not wish to share publicly to StaffAppreciation@alkipta.com and, with Ms. Deese’s help, we will make sure all staff members receive it.
.
“No Gifts, Please.”
Although Alki Elementary Staff truly appreciate the thoughtful gifts you have given in the past, many have asked that this year we instead consider donating to Alki Families in Need or to the West Seattle Food Bank.
